Bugatti Veyron Is The World's Most Expensive Bracket Racer: Video

The phrase “run what you brung,” though grammatically incorrect, is often applied to drag racing. On a typical weekend night, there’s no telling what car you’ll be stacked up against in the opposite lane. That looks to be the case in the video below, where the owner of a mildly tuned Nissan GT-R finds himself up against a...

Toyota Camry Gets "Recommended" Rating from Consumer Reports

The new Toyota Camry has received a recommended review from Consumer Reports, with the vehicle being tested for the magazine's February 2012 issue, as Bloomberg writes.

The Camry was praised for multiple assets, including technical and feature-related parts and Toyota needs such review to keep the Camry on top of the US car market - the vehicle has been the US' best seller for 13 of the last 14 years.

Infiniti G37 Sports Line Black Bison Edition by Wald International

Japanese tuning is usually all about adding big wings and huge skirts that kiss the ground. Thankfully, from the same country that makes anime foil wraps comes a project that just oozes menace and looks.

Takatsuki-based tuning firm Wald Internal has come up with yet more seriousness in the form of a cosmetic kit for the Infiniti G37 Sedan, also know as the Nissan Skyline in Japan. The kit is called the Sports Line Black Bison Edition and from a distance, you'd almost say this is an AMG Merced...

DashCommand update integrates with Pioneer AppRadio

Filed under:

Pioneer DashCommand

DashCommand for Windows, Android and iOS has been around for a while, but the most recent update for the iPhone allows you to view all the OBD-II-sourced data directly on your Pioneer AppRadio.

As we've said before, the real draw of the AppRadio isn't just its 6.1-inch, capacitive multi-touch screen, it's the ability for third parties to integrate their apps into the display. In the case of DashCommand, you can port over 229 different data points through your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using an OBDII connector. A maximum of 27 customizable gauges show you everything from coolant temps to check engine lights, and using the built-in accelerometer and GPS systems, you can also display an inclinometer, G-forces and even race track mapping. Get all the details in at DashCommand's site.

Lamborghini: Official Car of Christmas Elves

Contrary to the popular belief, Christmas elves live normal lives like you and us during most of the year. However, in the week before Christmas, they set off from all corners of the world to reach Santa and help with the preparations for the big night.

Since airports have tougher and tougher rules, the elves now prefer to use cars as much as possible. The adjacent image (which comes from luxury4play) shows us what an elven car park looks like this time of they years. They use Lamborghinis as...

MotoGP Rules Tweaked: Testing Restrictions Ended, 9 CRT Entries Accepted, Minimum Weights Increased

MotoGP's rule-making body, the Grand Prix Commission, adopted a number of changes to the MotoGP rules in a meeting on Wednesday. As expected, the testing restrictions were dropped, now to be limited by tire allocation. Other changes adopted include an increase in the minimum weight, the introduction of rear-facing red lights to be carried in wet conditions, a slight tweak to the 107% qualifying minimum time, and explicitly granting authority to impose penalties on event organizers. The GPC also considered the entry list for the 2012 MotoGP season, and accepted 9 CRT entries, along with 1 reserve CRT entry.

Nissan initiates multi-vehicle recall over faulty bolts

Nissan is recalling just over 14,700 vehicles from the 2011 and 2012 model years over faulty bolts in the engine. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter to the engine in these vehicles may have been manufactured to below specification strength."

Affected Nissan vehicles include the 2011-12 Pathfinder, 2011-12 Xterra, 2012 NV and 2012 Frontier. Additionally, the 2011 Infiniti FX and 2012 Infiniti M are being recalled for this issue.

The NHTSA report states that if there is an engine oil leak, pressure would drop and the engine could possibly seize. Bad news all around.

The recall is expected to kick off in mid-January, and Nissan dealers will replace the connector bolts free of charge. To read the full NHTSA report, follow the jump.

2012 MotoGP Calendar Changes: Qatar A Week Earlier, Jerez Confirmed, Calendar Still Provisional

The MotoGP schedule for the 2012 season has been tweaked a little, and there is some good news for fans: the season starts seven days earlier, with the Qatar MotoGP round having been moved up a week to April 8th. The move is in response to the Formula One calendar, which sees the Chinese Grand Prix scheduled for April 15th, the date originally planned for Qatar, and so the decision was taken to start the MotoGP season a week earlier.

The other changes to the calendar are merely confirmations of what had been widely expected. The German GP is now officially set to take place at the Sachsenring, although as the contracts are yet to be completed, the date is still listed as being subject to contract. Those contracts are a mere formality, however, as the ADAC and the regional government came to an agreement earlier this month to keep the German round of MotoGP at the circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal. The Jerez round has also been confirmed, with the mayor of the circuit stepping in to ensure the 2012 date. Beyond 2012 is another matter, however, as the circuit is still in financial turmoil, stemming from alterations made back in 2001, and with new rounds in Argentina and Texas scheduled for 2013, Jerez could well be dropped after that date.

AMP Electric Jeep Grand Cherokee Coming to Detroit Motor Show
