NHTSA Closes Ford F-150 Fuel Tank Strap Investigation

Back in May, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that it upgraded its investigation into 2.7 million 1997-2001 F-150 pickups for fuel tank straps that could rusted and failed.

The safety body had received a total of 339 complaints, and found that the issue could be serious if the tank dropped out of the trucks, hit the road and caused a leak.
