Financial concerns are one thing. No one ever said a Fisker Karma wouldn't look stunning cruising through the Swiss Alps.
Thus, it's good to know that the California-based extended-range plug-in vehicle maker will have the chance to show off its Karma luxury sedan across the pond in the first-ever Bodensee-Elektrik Rallye, which runs through this weekend.
The race goes through Switzerland, Germany and Austria and will subject the Karma to "hundreds of kilometers in a true test of both economy and endurance," Fisker says. The automaker estimates that the Karma can go about 50 miles in electric-only mode (EPA says 32) and about 300 miles when using up a fully-charged battery and a full tank of, uh, petrol.
Fisker also added that Karma sales in Europe are "continuing at pace" and that the sedan "is becoming a more frequent site [sic] on the road," but the company did not disclose sales specifics.
Fisker is trying to raise more cash for production of the Karma as well as for its upcoming Atlantic model after the U.S. Department of Energy froze most of the $529 million in loans earmarked for the company because of production delays.
