Red Bull Cannot Resist Without KERS - Hamilton

Red Bull did not use their Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) in Australia last weekend, yet they dominated the running from one end to another. And from the looks of it, we'll likely see an even tougher Red Bull team in Malaysia, since the Milton Keynes based mechanics will also integrate the aforementioned technology into the RB7 two weekends from now.

If the characteristics of the Melbourne track seldom made the use of KERS decisive in qualifying or race, things will change in Malaysia,...

Police Seize Chinese Gold Car for Being... For Being.

Built to dazzle, an Infiniti G-37 convertible wrapped in gold was. Unfortunately for the owner, the car didn't manage to dazzle traffic police all that much. Or maybe it did, considering they've taken it with them...

On Tuesday, March 29, scores of people flocked to a small busy street in Nanjing, China, to see what their eyes have never seen; a flashy, golden yellow Infiniti G-37 convertible. A Chinese man and a Chinese woman, dressed to impress, stepped out of the car, moved onto the sidew...

Lincoln MKZ Hybrid sales exceeding Ford's expectations

Given that the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is little more than a gussied-up Ford Fusion Hybrid, it's not surprising that the gas-electric MKZ achieves the same 41 miles per gallon city and 36 mpg highway rating. Admittedly, we were a bit shocked when Lincoln announced that the MKZ Hybrid starts at $35,180 (including destination and delivery) - the same price as a gas-only front-wheel-drive 3.5-liter V6 model. Perhaps that's why buyers are snatching up the MKZ Hybrid at a rate that even Ford didn't expect.

Initially, Ford targeted the hybrid version to account for approximately 15 percent of total MKZ sales. However, the numbers show that the MKZ Hybrid's take rate has averaged between 22 and 23 percent since January of 2011. Ford says that March's numbers look similar. Through the end of February, Lincoln sold a total of 3,343 MKZ sedans, 762 of which were hybrids. With no premium price tag and gas prices soaring, perhaps nobody should be surprised by the MKZ Hybrid's take rate. Perhaps the better question would be, is the hybrid model profitable?

Toyota Avensis touring car debuts ahead of BTCC season opener

Touring car racing is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance as of late. DTM is growing from a German national series to a proper international championship, while the World Touring Car Championship is living up to its name by expanding outside Europe. V8 Supercars are as popular as ever Down Under, just as Super GT is in Japan. But arguably the most resurgent is the British Touring Car Championship.

Title-sponsored by Dunlop, this year's BTCC will feature no fewer than 27 competitors - and all-time high for the series - fielding 13 different models from 10 manufacturers, representing Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Proton, Seat, Toyota, Vauxhall and Volkswagen. That could very well be higher and more varied participation than any other major racing series in the world.

When the BTCC launched its Next Generation Touring Car formula, it was Toyota's British subsidiary that kicked it off with the new Avensis racer, which has finally made its public debut at Silverstone - a little behind schedule, but still a week before the series gets under way at Brands Hatch. The car will be campaigned by Dynojet Racing and Speedworks, with Frank Wrathall, Jr. and Tony Hughes behind the wheel of each, respectively. The cars are built atop frames rolling right off the assembly line at Toyota's Burnaston plant, and powered by a turbochagred 2.0-liter four with over 300 horsepower. Check out the full press blast after the jump for more.

Spy Shots: 2012 Porsche 911

2012 Porsche 911 spy shotsPorsche is soon to launch its next-generation 911 and as can be seen by these latest spy shots, prototypes for the car appear to be almost complete. Shown in the least camouflage and from the closest distance yet, the new 911 looks to be just as its predecessors have been: a variation on the classic theme, with some modern tweaks. But just as the...
