According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), it’s not really your fault for not being able to safely and easily install a child seat. Out of 100 best selling vehicles they looked at, only under a quarter met their criteria for easy installment.

So automakers are actually to blame for making the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) hard to use.
